Solar Storm
A solar storm is set to light up the night sky with spectacular Auroral displays tonight and tomorrow night! Keep your eyes on the northern horizon (yes, even in Pennsylvania!) and you may get a great show! I'm headed out with the family tonight for a front row seat with camera in tow. Hope to be able to post some great photos on here soon.

Ah, it seems to be working now. I tried to post a response yesterday, but I couldn't get this to respond. I hope you got a good light show, Emily. Aunt Holly and I were looking forward to it, and it was sunny and clear all day, but as soon as the sun went down, a blanket of clouds covered the sky here. Sigh. I looked out several times during the PM but saw only cloudy sky. C'est la vie.
ReplyDeleteWe went up into a nearby mountain pass and saw some faint displays but it soon became hazy and we couldn't see anything after that. We saw an amazing display right over our house before we left, so I guess we would have been better off staying home and watching there.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that we did see them last night. It was partly cloudy here, but clear enough to see the shimmering curtains of light for a while. Like last time, they were white or very pale green.
ReplyDeleteDid you pack your solar umbrellas?
ReplyDeleteHeh heh, Matt. I forgot.
ReplyDeleteit was rainy and cloudy here so I didn't even try to see. I wish....
